Community Advertising Printing & copy Service ...is a local business established In 1997 providing affordable, leading edge advertising, printing, image consulting, secretarial and resume services to businesses throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes, Durham and surrounding areas. Operating this community based business is a dream-come-true for owner Eileen Thompson. Eileen has had over 20 years experience working in related flelds. CAPS is fortunate to be supported by a team of three professional printers, a printing assistant and two professional typesetters in place to assist you with all your business needs. Eileen and her husband, Rick, have lived in the area for fifteen years. To their delight, they are finding themselves very busy with the business needs of the community and a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce.
I would like to thank all the people who have made this honour possible for CAPS because we did not do it alone. We have been very fortunate to have had mentors, teachers and friends who just plain rolled up their sleeves to help out. Beginning with the Small Business Center in Lindsay and Karen Rae Short of KRS Marketing Inc. who helped to educate me in the ways of running a small business and gave me the courage ten years ago to take the leap and forge ahead with my business idea. I would also like to thank Jerry Courtois of Selcor Marketing for being there for me from day one and for his mentoring along the way and Brenda Kasenette, former Manager Of The Lindsay & District Chamber Of Commerce for her friendship and encouragement. A special thank you to all the people who were on the Selection Committee for this award; Bjorn Alfredsson, President, Holsag Canada; Linda Rickard, Regional Development Manager, Women In Rural Economic Development (WRED); Ron Richards, one of the founders of the Kawartha Manufacturers' Association (KMA) and its current Secretary/Treasurer; and Hazel McInnis, serving as Chair, Secretary/Treasurer, Member of the Board of Directors of the Victoria County Employment Development Group. Most of all however I would like to give a great big heartfelt thank you to YOU, my customers who have become my friends, because without your faith and trust in me CAPS would just not exist. I would also like to congratulate John Sherman, Owner of Silent Sound Violins, in Kirkfield for winning the award for Most Innovative Product 2000 Victoria County |
